The integrated solution for dispatching
and passenger information

DiLoc®| Motion
Passenger information in control centres

DiLoc®| Motion is a web-based, multi-client capable platform that processes information from different data sources (e.g. GNSS positioning and control systems). This data is processed in a variety of ways (timetable data, connection information, etc.) and transmitted in real time to the display and announcement systems at stations and in vehicles.

Flexible and secure

The web-based and user-friendly user interface as well as the modern software architecture offer users maximum flexibility with simultaneous security through data encryption. Convenient user and licence management allows any number of users to be created and individual access rights to be assigned.

We bring together what belongs together

Dispatching and passenger information are inextricably linked, as every dispatching change has an impact on passengers. It does not matter whether it is a simple scheduling change, such as a delay, a more complex change, such as a track change, or a change that affects several levels, such as a line closure. All of these standard processes and many more are easily and conveniently possible with DiLoc®| Motion.

DiLoc®| Motion
Functions in detail

DiLoc®| Motion is the central data hub for all passenger information output channels in your rail transport company. The functions of DiLoc®| Motion are diverse and yet it is a standard software that can be adapted to the specific requirements of the user through parameterisation, individual settings and configuration. In this way, we have created an efficient and intelligent software solution that fulfils very specific customer requirements on the one hand and offers standard functions for everyone on the other.

fahrplan

Timetable manager

This basic module manages any number of timetables with their respective validity periods. The DiLoc®| Motion timetable is more than just an ordinary timetable, as it integrates a lot of special information that is essential for automated passenger information. The timetable manager supports the rapid recording of all vehicles for one or more timetable periods by defining a standard week, for which any number of weekly and daily exceptions can be created. The differentiation between technical journey times and timetable times is the basis for a precise forecast calculation in the event of delays, taking into account all defined connection relationships.

The timetable can either be imported from a source or efficiently recorded in DiLoc®| Motion itself. Intelligent copy functions make this possible in a short time.

dispositiven

Dispatching

In DiLoc®| Motion, you dispatch using ZWL diagrams (time-distance-line diagrams). Important attributes for passenger information are already integrated into the scheduling interventions. Planned changes and deviations from normal operations (e.g. construction sites) can also be conveniently prepared and distributed to various output channels. This allows you to keep your website, adverts, announcements etc. up to date and coordinated at all times. Based on the timetable and the actual operational status (localisation), the scheduling module provides a complete overview of all running and planned vehicles for the current day in ZWL diagrams, in table form, on the map and in route network plans.

The starting point for every dispatching process is the exact localisation of vehicles in order to ensure the target/actual comparison. The localisation information can come from various sources such as GNSS, external control systems such as LeiDis, ILTIS or BBR and is processed in DiLoc.

All connected systems, such as passenger information and neighbouring transport companies (via VDV etc.), are automatically informed about the operating situation via interfaces and supplied with fault messages.

Passenger information (stationary)

DiLoc®| Motion connects the dispatching system directly with the stationary display and announcement systems (monitors, pillars, overhead displays, loudspeakers, etc.) and neighbouring transport companies via the VDV interface, so that all dispatching decisions that have an impact on passengers are immediately communicated visually and acoustically at the stations via the corresponding displays and loudspeakers. The high degree of automation of this solution means that no additional staff are required to operate the passenger information system.

The displays are controlled directly in real time from DiLoc®| Motion. In the event of delays, disruptions, broken connections or track changes, this ensures that passengers are always kept up to date with the latest information at the stations, in the vehicles or individually via the internet and apps. The text-to-speech announcements are also generated live in DiLoc®.

In addition to automatic output, all displays and loudspeakers can be addressed individually or in groups with customised content. Technical function monitoring is also integrated into the system.

Passenger information (mobile)

The central DiLoc®| Motion system provides the vehicles with the necessary data in real time, such as timetable updates, dispatching changes, forecasts and connections.

The use of the open MPI (Mobile Passenger Information) interface makes it possible, for example, to transmit localisation data or diagnostic data from the vehicle to the DiLoc® server in real time.

fis

PIS overview

Our customers appreciate the PIS overview because they can check the current status of the information on all screens at a glance. But it is also possible to look back into the past and, for example, to see which display showed which specific information and when.

flottenmanager

Fleet manager

With the Fleet Manager, we have developed a tool that brings the fleet into the control centre. The Fleet Manager contains diagnostic information on every train, including the screen contents of individual TFT displays, the supply of new software updates or configuration changes to individual or all trains. As a special function, we also enable direct access to the control unit of an individual train from the control centre.

In addition, the vehicles are equipped with GPS modules that enable them to be tracked on a map. Alternatively, the vehicles can be displayed in a table, whereby run reports are generated for each vehicle when they arrive at or drive past locations that are of interest. The complete vehicle route, including the location and time of each vehicle, is saved and can be analysed in the statistics module.

In addition, the vehicles located in this way can be assigned to a vehicle recorded in the timetable manager. The deviation analysis of the target and actual data documents punctuality seamlessly.

schnittstelle

Interfaces

We are convinced that interfaces must be open. For security reasons, the actual communication is of course encrypted, but we are happy to disclose the description of the communication protocol. This applies first and foremost to our MPI real-time data communication between the train and shore side, but also to all other communication that takes place between PIS hardware components on the train.

DiLoc® also has various interfaces for communication with external systems. These can be divided into the following categories:

  • Interfaces for passenger information: e.g. VDV 453, 454
  • Interfaces to control systems and infrastructure companies: e.g. LeiDis (DB), ILTIS (Siemens), BBR (Stadler), Command 900 (Thales)
  • Interfaces between vehicles and control centre: MPI, ETC Vehicle Interface
  • SysDispoOp: Control of the ILTIS control technology with DiLoc®| Motion
  • Export of statistical data or other information (e.g. ZWL diagrams): e.g. XML, XLS, PDF
  • Of course, we can also develop other customised interfaces for customers.

Frequently asked questions
about DiLoc®|Motion

We have become experts in the field of migration through many successfully completed projects and have a broad range of expertise. Rest assured - it will work. In the pre-project phase, we analyse the current situation in detail, look at the risks together with you and draw up a milestone plan that shows the way to the ‘brave new world of passenger information’. You then decide whether you want to go down this path with us.

Firstly, we would like to get to know you and understand your needs and your history. We will give you an initial insight into our products. We would then be happy to put you in touch with one of our customers who can introduce you to DiLoc®| Motion authentically and in a real-time environment. On this occasion, we as cn-mobility are not present and trust that our customers will report openly and honestly about the products and their cooperation with us.

We offer two different licence models. One is based on the number of licences required (concurrent users), the other on the number of train runs per month. Both licence models work according to the SaaS principle (Software-as-a-Service). This means that a monthly price is determined for the software according to usage, which includes the licence, service, updates and further developments. This avoids high initial costs and usage is easy to calculate.
